Communities In Schools of Greater Tarrant County is part of a national dropout prevention network. With over 200 affiliates nationwide, Communities In Schools is helping 1.3 million students stay in school and achieve in life.

Communities In Schools was brought to Tarrant County by a United Way taskforce that saw a need for an effective and efficient stay-in-school program. Communities In Schools of Greater Tarrant County was formed in 1992 and opened programs in two schools. Over the past 25 years, our effective results and growing support have allowed us to expand into 47 schools across 8 Tarrant County school districts, serving over 35,000 students.
